Hi, I'm Jen.
I'm a midwife and women's outreach community worker. Mum of one daughter who was originally my "why" for wanting to explore a different way of life. Now, I actually value myself as my why (as well as my daughter) and I've only learned to do this through my sobriety.
I live in Great Sankey, Warrington and have been a member of bee sober since I took the decision to remove alcohol from my life on 05/04/2020.
I came across bee sober in January 2020 after some hungover googling and started with the 30 day sober experiment. I floated along on the "pink cloud" for 30 days but then, as most people do, I had a go at moderating. This wasn't great, the decision of whether to have a drink, how many to have, what to have etc became noise that was actually more difficult than just not drinking at all. I soon realised that alcohol has nothing positive to offer me and decided to stop completely.
Bee sober has been a constant support to me, whether that has been attending brunches or just being able to tap into the ready made support circle and read other people's experiences online.
I've decided to become and ambassador for Liverpool and Wirral to give back and support others in their sobriety and build more sober connections.
Aside from raving about my sober life you can also find me: listening to Taylor Swift (massive swiftie - absolutely unapologetic and unashamed); drinking a good cuppa; walking; completing DIY tasks to varying degrees of success; at the gym; running; in the garden attempting to make it look nice with no idea what I'm doing; mothering in various locations such as: soft play, cinemas, parks, beaches etc....also seem to end up in costco a lot despite bulk buying supposedly being the whole point of it.
