I live in California, USA and have been involved with Bee Sober for several years. This community has been instrumental in helping me on my sober path. Although I am on a different continent, I still feel a strong connection to the community of Bee Sober. My hope is to help those who are struggling with their relationship with alcohol. I also have a dream of a future meet up in the states with our members of our community.
I am a semi-retired nurse, am married and have 2 adult sons and 2 wonderful grandchildren.
My relationship with alcohol has been challenging for most of my adult life. The last 5-10 years of my drinking was especially challenging as my drinking escalated. I felt the shame and guilt that so many of us feel when our drinking controls us. It's a very lonely place to be. I totally understand. how alcohol can get a grip and it tries everything it can to make us think it's the only way to be happy. How wrong that is! Becoming sober has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family.
