How to Answer When Friends Ask Why You’re Sober?
When friends ask why you’re sober, it can be a difficult question to answer. You may not want to go into detail about your struggles with addiction, or you may simply not know how to explain your decision. Whatever your reason for choosing sobriety, here are a few ways to answer your friends’ questions.

First, try to be understanding of your friends’ curiosity. They may be curious about your decision, or they may be worried about you. Let them know that you appreciate their concern, and then explain your reasoning in a way that they can understand.

If you’re sober for health reasons, you can explain that you’re trying to improve your quality of life. You may also want to mention that you’re not alone in your decision and that many people are choosing to live a sober lifestyle. If you’re sober for religious reasons, you can explain that you’ve decided.

If you have friends or family members who don't support you, it might be time to reconsider those relationships. Spend less time with those people and focus on building relationships with people who do support you.
